Why am I immediately attracted to this mangy beast
I’m sorry if these asks are getting annoying you guys!! I try to keep some replies to asks private if able on occasion, but when there are ideas/questions that show up in my inbox that I think multiple people may like to see my answer to, I post in publicly.
I’ll try to get into the swing of tagging these things so folks can filter them out or something (if that’s how Tumblr even works). :’D
pancakeproductionz-deactivated2 asked: What would animatronic mike look like?
Mike the Mongrel
I’m in love.
Anonymous asked: *pokes you with a stick* Are you friendly?
I’ve been told by numerous folks I am. Heck, I’d like to think I am!
But I find myself to be a pretty bland person, so. :)
potatoes-tomatoes asked: When did you start drawing and why are you so good?! Like, I'm barely a freshmen and comparing my art to yours, I REALLY need to step it up. Got some tips? (Sorry if I'm annoying you btw)
Not an annoyance at all! Real flattered at the curiosity with the extent of my art history. <:)
But, I started drawing on a regular basis when I was at least… 10, I believe it was.
Around the age of 12 was when I started having more freedom to access the Internet at home and began to find art websites and such. My mother also got me my first drawing tablet (being one of those fairly cheap ones you could find at an electronics store for maybe twently-ish dollars or so; no pen pressure or special features/shortcuts to them, though). From then on, I took up digital art on a more regular basis, and pretty much drew EVERY day.
When I was 13, I eventually earned enough money to buy Paint Tool SAI (my current drawing program) and, well… here I am. :)
I like to think I was like all other aspiring artists when starting at a young age; I would draw my favorite cartoon characters I’d see on TV before eventually doodling my own ‘characters’ straight out of my head, and just keep at it. And I can’t stress enough along with any other artist when I say that drawing every single day is crucial to improving your art at a steady and (I use this term very loosely) 'faster’ rate.
I don’t consider myself a pro at art, as I’ve still got TONS to learn myself. (And I constantly have days where I feel my quality drops significantly compared to what may have been a previously amazing art day. Not 'art block’, but just… something happens to my drawing hand, I suppose.) But I hope my lil input/telling of how I got started helps give some insight! It’s never too late to start learning; just keep it at it now, and you’ll go a loong way before you know it! <3
roxandasher-deactivated20220320 asked: What art classes have you taken to get how good you are now? Any in-school ones?
Some people have told me this was hard to believe, but I actually didn’t necessarily go to any special art school/take any special art classes. Or, maybe not so much, since I’m only a junior in high school. I’m pretty much self taught, though. :)
When it came to teaching myself about anatomy, expressions, exaggeration; all other things, I simply referenced off art of other artists, realistic, cartoon, or otherwise.
This probably isn’t the best of ways for EVERYONE when you first start drawing (as knowing proper anatomy from more reliable sources like actual photos is VERY necessary to drawing professionally), but it seems like it worked out okay for me?
However, I’d say that if you have an actual art class in your school that centers around the kind of art/craft you’d want to study; take it! While my style is cartooney, the teacher I had in my previous art classes wanted our class to make our assignments center around realism, and it forced me to study anatomy with actual models (our classmates) at some points throughout the year! It’s really beneficial for you!
Heck, I still apply a lot of other things that I learned from those classes to my art today. :)
Anonymous asked: And I saw that you do requests, but what about commissions? You deserved 10000000 dollars ur art is SOOO cute
Hehe, I do take commissions, but I’m currently not open at this time (because school constantly feasts on my free time) :’] Also, still considering raising my prices a lil bit since I seemed to have improved these past several months, so I need some time to think that over.
But gosh, I don’t think I deserve all that much for my art! I’ve still got my kinks to work out! But thank you so much! <3
(And requests are done to an extent!! That being clarified a bit on my page description. <:Dc)

Anonymous asked: Your art gives me life friend. You don't do humans much, do you? Just curious.
Aah.. goosh, far too flattering. ;//;
Hehe, unfortunately (and what I consider, quite terribly) I do not. Fairly recently (at least a good month or so), I’ve been trying to practice cartooney humans sort of on my own (without referencing off actual photo). Maybe soon enough I’ll actually have some decent headshots and stuff to post.
HOWEVER, this past week (again, indirectly thanks to drama class this year), I’ve discovered an actor I’ve really come to admire in personality and skill; that being Christian Borle. While looking for what shows/performances he’s been in, I discovered a show called ‘Smash’ that he was a part of, and I’m in love with his character “Tom Levitt”.
Barely started season 2 the other day, but I revisited one of season one’s episodes for what has to be one of of my favorite scenes out of the show. Suddenly, took a screenshot of a point within the scene-

-and started on a sort of 'redraw’ of it in my style.

I’m so embarrassed to post this 'cause it looks horrid and I need a LOT of practice on being more realistic with it, but it’s fun to learn! Learning to draw humans is actually bringing back fustrating, yet good nostalgia of when I first started out drawing.
At least now, I’m not as inexperienced in art as I once was. <:)
Anonymous asked: Draw porn of that damn cute couple
Hehe, ‘fraid I’d have to let down hopes and say that’s not doable. <:)
[Again, folks, I’m only 16, so still technically underage to even being allowed to see such content, let alone approved to draw it! Even then, it’s not very likely that I’ll find myself trying to branch into adult artwork. I find myself going so far as to do lewd/suggestive poses and themes (‘cause those are fun and sweeter to me, to be honest), but past that; naah! :)]
