I believe that I’ve been trying to make flash stuff in Actionscript 3! (And the only believe the only significant difference difference between the two is that the third allows ‘bones’ in your projects, while the second one doesn’t.)
Hehe, I’m still learning a LOT about the program myself as I just wing at it, so I wouldn’t be the best person to ask about it! But it’s certainly interesting to learn!
(AH, and no templates, I’d think! I really admire frame-by-frame animation, versus ‘puppets’/models. Nothing wrong or bad with 'em, by all means, but I can’t help but to admire traditional animation methods a bit more! 'Tradigital’, even!

Tumblr’s never been on my list of ‘priorities’ before several months ago, because of Five Nights, and even now I’m still not used to having to check here for mesages now as well. 9.5 times out of 10, I draw everything on my computer, from start to finish! There are some ‘rarer’ cases where I do decide to color/finish a sketch I start traditionally on paper digitally (like my recent Foster’s Home art post)! :)
