Heya!
Aye, I’m really sorry to hear such a thing happens to you. Especially from family.
I’m afraid I can’t relate, as I’ve never really dealt with this sort of thing myself, but honestly, I’d think to try and ignore what they say. I do believe in ‘tough love’, and there could be slim possibility that your family is looking out for you and just wants you to have a healthier/somewhat easier lifestyle (so perhaps other people won’t feel a 'need’ to make fun of how you dress.
But regardless of that being (or likely not being the case), you are your own person. As long as your not hurting yourself and you’re living a fairly good lifestyle for yourself, I say just live for yourself!
Wearing outfits that your family may want you to wear could be for good reason, sure, but dress however you wanna dress!
Weight can always be maintained/worked on, yes, but if you feel good and your health’s still in tip-top shape, you’re free to your own body’s mass.
And your actions can, more or less, reflect you as a person. It’s just your personality being shown in a different way. It’s just you. If it’s mainly just your family wanting you to act a certain way and you’re not really hurting anybody, don’t worry about it.
Again, I personally haven’t really dealt with this sort of thing myself from friends, family, or any other person. But I keep these things in mind myself when I think about how I like to dress, how I try to maintain my weight, and especially how I act ('treat folks how I wouldn’t mind being treated if I was in their shoes).
Just be you, :)
I hope that, in any case, you’ll manage to have a very merry holiday, Anon. <3
