Hiya!
Aww, hehe, feel more than free to! I appreciate the want to ask first! (And all I’d request is proper credit given where due.) :)

Heya!
To be frank, I don’t think I’m the best person to approach about character design, since I don’t consider that my specialty. <:) Though, I do doodle a lot in one sitting, and it is possible I do start making more of a ‘character’ out of something I just create.
Particularly, I started drawing this lil guy more than once last night while trying to make a thing for another ask I want to get to soon:

I don’t recall having anything specific in mind when making this guy, other than a bunny with hanged ears in a sweater. Then, I just worked in a design for him as I went along. How rounded to make the cheeks, how to shape the teeth, the legs/feet, etc. It all just comes to me as I go!
Not the most helpful of advice, I know, but I’m weird like that! <:’D
And with different poses, I also wing at! I pretty much make a random line of action when starting my sketch, and build off of there! Apologies for the very quick (and bad) sketches here, but if it helps give an idea of what I mean:

And L.O.A. can lead to many different directions for a character, other than simple stance! But don’t be afraid to branch out with it a bit more! Buff out the chest, bump up the torso, make a character stretch, slouch- there is no limit! <3
(Hehe, and thank you so much! <3)
Aw, hehe, no need to be afraid to tell me anything like that! Really flattered and appreciate the thoughts. <3 :)
And personally… ah, I’d actually have to say not really. Ask me about two years ago, I definitely would’ve said that I’d be super nervous about trying to tell another artist I admire them.
Nowadays, though, if I feel more compelled to make a comment on an artists’ new piece and say how much I love it, let alone their work in general, I just do! It’s pretty much always at the convenience of them posting new works that I would comment (as I’m sure they get messages that go on about how much they inspire other folks all the time and I wouldn’t want to bother them with my words), but I’m not nervous about it!
I suppose I’ve started to observe others artists’ personalities and their ‘limits’ to compliments. Some greatly enjoy them and love to receive that continuous feedback, others are VERY shy about it and may actually edge away from too much of it. If you’re still nervous about wanting to say something to an artist, I’d say try to find where in that range an artist is about compliments and just go for it!
I can’t speak for others like myself, but I do really appreciate and enjoy any possible compliment(s), let alone comment(s) in general that I may receive. Granted, sometimes I don’t think I deserve as many as I receive and the extent of each, but I DO appreciate them.
I’d like to make it known I’m generally open to hearing ideas and comments folks may have to tell me though, be them positive or perhaps even not-so-positive. While I may not be able to get back at every single one of them, I do try to satisfy as many folks as I can with what I do.
So as an ending note, thank you again for wanting to ask about my overall attitude and to tell me your thoughts on my art! I really appreciate it! (And I’m sure any other artist would, too!) <3
