where I dump my scribbles
Sometimes im like. Overwhelmed by the fact that you are so popular, are a furry(i dont mean to use labels youre not comfortable with, and if this is the wrong word im sorry) and younger than me. Ive been a furry forever and im at least 4 years older, and yet?? I was nowhere near as successful at your age. Tell me your secrets haha; jk im just. I guess im just sayin i wish i was as likable as you. Its nice to see someone with your skills and maturity at your age.

I don’t consider myself popular. Sure, some others have (legitimately) told me that they see me as such, but I really don’t. Am flattered by the thought, though. :)

And no apologies necessary! I do consider myself a furry! Hehe, really am flattered by these thoughts, thank you!

I just… try to be me, really! I try to be as kind towards folks as I can be while still being appropriate to a situation. And I’ve still got a lot to learn with what I do, but constant practice/drawing each and everyday can really go a long way! At least, that’s what I’ve been making sure I do for the past four years and… it seems it’s actually been for the better. <3

Why do you ship Foxy and Chica? I mean, i get that you and other fans think theyre bith cute, your favorite charas, etc. i agree! they are cute cool and awesome, but i just cant picture them actually having romantical interests. I mean, all the animatronics, no matter what shipping, shipped together just wont compute in my brain.

I’m actually not quite sure, haha!

It’s not necessarily the fact that those two happen to be my first two favorite characters (if I had to pick favorites), but it’s just.. fun for me! Sure, I could try to think up some sort of explanation to it, but there’s no real rhyme or reason to it!

And then again, I love seeing Foxy and Chica paired together in any sense! Not just romantically, but platonically! Heck, even any portrayal of them being big jerks to each other really tugs at my heartstrings. :D I just love ‘em a lot! <3

Um, I think you forgot your signature Orlando, and possibly a watermark too XD

Oh no no, never! :D (Psst, check the hat!)

(But YAY that it may not have been noticeable at first glance! Haha, I much rather that than a blatant signature at times, thank you!)

How do you do beaks? I'm trying to draw Chica but I don't really know how to draw any beaks
Anonymous

Ah, my apologies to say, but I don’t think I could give a firm ‘tutorial’ or anything of how I draw beaks! I can say, when you first start out with drawing them, it can be a bit of a challenge, especially with the different types of bird beaks there are (and size\shape of ‘em matter a lot!). More so when trying to draw them at different angles.

After you look at a lot of references and tend to draw them often, though, it kind of becomes second nature, at least for me! This being said, a chicken’s beak is a fairly easy beak to master! Perhaps this can show how I typically do them? <:)

Pretty much a doodle page more than anything, but overall, I tend to relate chick beaks to… roundly-tipped eggs, in a way! Even then, though, I don’t find myself needing to draw guidlines or anything for a beak. I just start drawing it! :)

Haha, again, I don’t really do ‘tutorials’, and my method isn’t necessarily professional! But seriously, real life references are the way to go if it can apply to whatever you’re drawing; especially beaks in this case! Alongside that, having reference of Chica herself helps! And, of course, once you get more comfortable with it, don’t be afraid to stylize and\or exaggerate, if that maybe works best for you. :)

Can you share with us your 2015 goals?

*nods* Sure!

In general, I actually want/need to do some more ‘responsible things’; start applying for colleges, learn how to drive, etc.! Typical “few steps closer to adulthood” stuff!

Art wise, there’s also quite a few things! I want to actually start learning how to do storyboards and even animation in my spare time (mainly working with the programs I actually am able to have at hand from Toon Boom). Small-silly hope of mine is to actually make a lil’ Game Grumps Animation of a current favorite moment of mine. ^^

I also want to start dedicating more time to drawing humans as regularly as I do any other animal/non-human characters. Heck, I need to if I want any slim chance of possibly being qualified in getting in the art industry. :)

And… this is even more silly and perhaps more “fangirl-ish”.of me (and even spans past 2015), but I’d actually like to go out to different cons that folks I really admire happen to tend regularly, so I can possibly say “hi”/ask for a signature of something from them (assuming they could/would want to, of course!). Things like MAGFest where Arin, Dan, and the rest of the Grumps seem to attend often, BronyCon (or any other pony con) where a few artists I admire a lot may happen to attend, etc. Though I’m no where near worthy of being in their presence. :’D

Hehe, all depends on opportunity/funds/my social awkwardness at the time, really! But you never know!

All in all, just wanna have a fun year ahead, like 2014’s been! Pretty life-changing for me as well in a good way! I never would’ve imagined the things that’s happened to me fairly recently. Excited to see whatever 2015 may bring! <3

Hey there! I need some advice if you don't mind. So this girl in my school asked me to draw her a couple of her friends right? The thing is she is claiming that SHE drew them and she knows I know but I am too much of a door mat to tell anyone anyways. What should I do? Again I am sorry if this bothers you ; v ;

Heya! And not at all!

I can’t say I’ve (seriously) dealt with this sort of thing myself. But I can say that this could be fairly easy to deal with.

I would really recommend telling those that you have drawn that you were the one who made the pictures, rather than this girl. Show them any of your previous drawing, compare the style/quality, possibly even draw them again just to prove it. This could definitely be easier since it’d be in person.

But, as a (legitimately playful) joke, years ago, I had a friend take a sketch I made and tell folks that they drew it. Yet, ironically enough, those people that were told that immediately said, “Woah, really? Draw something else!”

We quickly cleared that up. :’D

Point in that being, if the friends of those girls happen to want drawings again on the spot, they may soon find out that she wasn’t the actual artist. And if that girl asks you again, do not be afraid to put your foot down and say no. Perhaps say that you’re busy or maybe even taking a break from drawing, but don’t keep that train going if you know that sort of thing is going on.

Others claiming your art right before your eyes can be sometimes be frightening to deal with, much less in person, but it is never okay. Don’t be afraid to defend your talent(s). You deserve your rightful credit.

I do hope this doesn’t escalate anymore than it already has. <3

Wow... do they not realize that they can just unfollow for a little bit while things settle down? It is of dire importance to an artist to know if their art is being used without permission. That kind of dialogue has all right to go to an art blog because guess what... it's probably where people are stealing it from. And if they see you acting against it and standing up for yourself, it could deter them... that anon was really out of place!

*nods* Very fair point!

As a general note, folks: you are not, in any way, obligated to keep following me, especially if my blog turns into something you’re not really into seeing, be it until it blows over or just indefinitely! I do feel that things like art theft (be it of me or others) are fairly appropriate to make post about, though! I very much appreciate it folks let me know of it, so I’d definitely like to acknowledge that I’m am now aware of it. :)

That anon’s point was fairly just in my opinion, though! It can be fairly annoying to some if it’s kind of consistent, especially if you happen to mainly follow that blog for the art itself, rather than what all may be going on with it.

But again, don’t hesitate to kick me off your follow list if it’s a nuisance! Very much appreciate folks that even follow me in the first place, much less perhaps like my art! <3

aknightofchaos replied to your post:Im kind of tired of seeing stuff about art theft…

Rude, anon.

Ah, I wouldn’t say this is really rude! A pretty fair point I would think! True, when I originally made a Tumblr blog, it was with intention of answering/replying to any asks I happen to get along with art, but it’s more than likely that many folks are mainly here for said art.

I really don’t like to constantly make public posts about what I do/don’t condone with my art, much less notify folks about it if it happens to go on, but when folks are set to anon/said theft accounts are really concerning, it’s quite hard to keep it more privately discussed. <:)

Im kind of tired of seeing stuff about art theft its all what this blog post now its annoying
Anonymous

I do apologize for that. It is getting fairly annoying for me too, especially as I don’t like to inconvenience you folks and have this stuff appear in your timelines. But I do like to try and deal with this sort of thing, as I definitely don’t condone it (much less appreciate it when it happens to occur with my art).

If mainly here for my art, you can find it under the tag ‘orlandofoxart’ on my blog. But I can’t say that I have been posting very much of that here either (ifonically because of these art incidents.) <:)

Hey, Orlando. I belive I found someone stealing your art? They haven't posted any art yet, but they have the name "OrlandoFoxx"
Anonymous

Ah, are the two ‘X”s intentional?

If so.. probably fair chance that this is the account?

If is is, I.. will have to keep an eye on that account, I’d think. That definitely isn’t me, haha. <XD

(Ah, not meaning to jump to conclusions about it already or anything! Heck, there’s another account on dA that’s just ‘OrlandoFox’! But given the mention of FNAF on their profile, now I can’t help but to be slightly concerned (if that’s the right word). <:) )

Thank you for letting me know! <3
